Hong Kong’s teeming Ladies Market in Kowloon can actually be quite intimidating, especially on a Friday afternoon.

Nice one, Stephen, you wouldn’t want to be claustrophobic down at the Ladies Market, would you? This photo really gives you the sense of being in amongst the throngs. Thanks for joining in the market challenge 🙂 xxx Ailsa
well howdy, ailsa. yes, it was an assault on the senses, but it was also incredibly vibrant! oh, and the noise! quite a trippy experience!

Nice picture Stephen. What a crowded market just like in Indonesia.
Thank you Albadr!!!
Love this image as it immediately reminds me of the fun and kaos that is shopping in Hong Kong and I immediately imagine the excitement when I see the street food markets too!
yes giaff, hong kong is a trip and a half isn’t it? i love it there … so exciting, so vibrant! and the food, my god, the food!!!
Wonderful image! Ladies market?
HI … and thanks! Dunno why it’s called Ladies Market (it’s also called Ladies Street), but it’s one of Hong Kong’s busiest and most popular street markets. Literally, if you can’t find it there, you can’t find it anywhere.
Cool!

Finally got to visit Ladies’ Market last October! Strangely enough, it didn’t feel claustrophobic at all. Perhaps it’s only the Westerners who feel closed in since they’re not used to it 🙂
perhaps it was the time of year … this was taken in May 2011. and you’re right, we Yanks don’t like being so closed in. thanks for stopping by!
I was there as well while visiting China last year – challenging place to get around! 🙂
Isn’t it … and don’t stop moving because there’s a thousand people coming up behind you! thanks for dropping by and moseying around for a bit!
Now THAT’S a crowd!
tight! it can be intense at times, but it’s quite a trip!
This week’s travel challenge is a tricky one, but I bet you’re up to it! xxx Ailsa http://wheresmybackpack.com/2012/06/01/rhythm/
