Weekly Photo Challenge: Close

You can’t get much closer to people than on a Tokyo subway train at rush hour …

… unless you get off at Shibuya Station.

    I’m so glad I don’t live there. I hate crowds! – rita

    • Hi Rita, and thanks for stopping by. Japan’s a really exciting place, but you have to be prepared for lots of people everywhere … especially on subways. (PS – liked your shot a lot … very intriguing)

The worst thing about living in the city and catching the subway – being too close to strangers!

  16. Alex Khoo says:

I hate to say that I did not enjoy as much in Tokyo than Kyoto because of the crowds! The crowds were just too overwhelming for me.

    • Hi Alex … yes, Tokyo was much more crowded than Kyoto. But I grew up in a big city and I now live in another big city, so the crowds in Tokyo weren’t that intimidating to me. And Tokyo is so much fun, it’s worth it to deal with crowds. But I’ve heard from others who said it was just too crowded and fast-paced for them. To each his own, eh?

  17. Fergiemoto says:

Oh, I can soooo relate! Good one for the theme. I made a few trips to Japan on business, and the morning rush hour foot traffic was incredibly crowded. You needed to keep up with the flow or you wouldn’t get anywhere.
