Specifically outdoor advertising, and nobody does that better than the Japanese. For someone who works in advertising, the city was a goldmine of inspiration. I don’t know what most of it means, but I love the relentless creativity behind it all!

Stephen very nice street art!!! Cheers Nonoy Manga
right back at ya, my friend!
So colorful and wild!!
… and really, really fun!!!
Always liked that one with the random meekats on the heads!
Hey Drew … one of my all time faves! I was trying to figure a way I could discreetly cut it down, smuggle it into the States, and proudly display it in my living room. It would really spruce the place up!
There’s gotta be a way you can do that. Write to the company? Usually, they just get rid of this stuff at the end of an ad campaign. I was given one of those Wall-E benches by Disney at the end of Wall-E’s run at the cinemas.
I know! And they usually print more than they use. Geez … where would I even start?
THE BEATLES’ YELLOW SUBMARINE in Tokyo!!!
They’re universal!!!
Oh, it’s a Japanese but I also don’t understand what it means. 🙂
hehe … oh good. now I don’t feel as bad!
I could read the one on which they say the Japanese also love the Beatles. 🙂
hehe … and the Asahi Beer poster.
They are definitely creative! Did you see the little packets of tissue with advertising that are frequently handed out on the street? I still have a bunch of those to use up.
Yes, I did. I also liked how they would tape those packet to subway walls to form their own distinct designs. I have a bunch of those, too.
