We, of course, were rooting for the Tigers, but the Giants played some mighty good baseball. Congratulations.
Hi Pat. I expected a much longer Series, at least 6 games. Detroit has a really powerful team, but they were no match for the tight, basic baseball fundamentals that the Giants played so well. I don’t think the layoff was good for Detroit, as well. The Giants steamrolled through the playoffs and just kept going in the Series.
I agree that the layoff didn’t work in the Tigers’ favor but I think the Giants are a stronger team (at least this year 🙂 ) and coming straight off the high from sweeping NY would have just given the Tigers a couple of wins. Verlander was way off on that first game.

Yes, the news reached my the other day … so I toke my old T-shirt on from 1989, bought it after a home game in SF when visiting … *smile – love baseball – but my team is the Seattle Mariners.
