Being a proud citizen of the city of San Francisco, one might think I would meet Ailsa’s Travel Theme with a pic or two of this city’s biggest icon: the Golden Gate Bridge. And whereas I say this with just a tinge of guilt, I’ve still got my Sydney on, so I’m obviously going with the Sydney Harbour Bridge, itself an icon of an iconic city!

It’s a beautifully constructed bridge, but not as impressive as our Golden Gate!!!!
Great pictures of the Sydney Harbor Bridge, Stephen! I so want to go to Australia!
Thanks!!! Everybody should visit Australia at least once in their lives!
Now, you behave yourself! We all know that bridges are mid-points and communications between one place and another, and you just got back to us from Sydney, so you don’t get to go anywhere else again yet (at least, not without paying a tariff of more photos! Ha!).
Hehe … as much as I’m tempted, I’m not going anywhere for the foreseeable future, especially with tax times coming up! And I’ll go ahead and pay that tariff of more photos … very soon! We’re so close!
I was waiting for you on this one…and you surprised me 🙂
Hi Angeline … glad you like this one. these days it’s very dear to my heart!
Funny. I live in Sydney but decided to do a different bridge for this challenge. My photos wouldn’t have been as good as yours anyway.
Well, howdy … may I call you empress … and thanks for dropping by my blog!
Yes, sure! 🙂
Like I’ve said in every post of yours, I love your pictures and your blog! 🙂
Thanks Marcos … cheers, mate!
That is one very impressive bridge from any angle
I know! I felt really guilty about not featuring my Golden Gate Bridge, but I couldn’t help myself. It is indeed a really impressive structure. I’m sure (I hope?) San Francisco will forgive me!
I’m sure there will be plenty more opportunities to show us your home town bridge…
My partner Jack has a real affinity with the old coat-hanger as he was born the year the bridge was opened in a very spectacular fashion.
hehe … I love that you guys call it the ol’ coathanger … cause it looks like one!
I’m still not tired of your Sidney thing so keep them coming. I know the feeling of having a computer full of images I love from my travels and stories all bottled up ready to tell.
Hi Pat! I had to snap right back into work once I got back from Sydney, and that’s really compromising my time. I know what you mean … I’m always this close to launching a gallery. Soon! Very soon …
Great photos …. Did you claim up to the top???It’s a truly beautiful bridge and you have made it justice.
Hi Viveka … oh no … my crippling fear of heights prevents me from ever doing the Bridge Climb, although I did walk across it!

I love bridges and have always been fascinated with them. Each one has an uniqueness to them. Some are large, some are small. Some are industrial and some are wooden. I love them all and their individual details. I love the Golden Gate Bridge and the Sydney Bridge looks incredible in it’s own right! Beautiful post!
Hi Judy … same here. Dunno why, but I love bridges … of all kinds! I like their symbolism: bridging a gulf, connecting one world to another.
