Ailsa’s Travel Theme: Beaches

I absolutely love being near the ocean — as a water sign, it’s where I feel most complete and in tune with myself, which is always a good thing! So I’ve been to many beaches in my time, from the Jersey shore to California to Australia. But this beach at Sydney’s Gordon’s Bay along the coastal walk between Bondi and Coogee is by far my favorite! As you can see, it’s just a little strip of sand, but it’s such a quiet, beautiful, peaceful place that I have a feeling this is what heaven looks like!

It’s an interesting beach. You can enjoy riding on the boats. 🙂

  2. What a beautiful little slice of heaven.
And like you I’m drawn to water, something settles in me when I’m on a beach 🙂

A beautiful beach, Stephen. I love the boats laid down on gratings like barbecued sardines :D. What sign are you? Can be one of three?

  4. Viveka says:

Beautiful and interesting angle …. a beach big enough for me … hate overcrowded beaches.

    • Hi Viveka … I’m with you on that. You can have your big, overcrowded beaches … like malls with sand and an ocean. I like the small, contemplative beaches where you can hear the water lapping at the shore. AHHHHHHHH!!!

    What a photogenic little beach

I grew up in Southern California, which instilled a love for the beach and the ocean. Thanks for sharing the photo.

  7. I grew up in Philly, and the Jersey shore was only a 45-minute drive to the east, and we went there for two weeks every summer. Every year we’de stayed in a beautiful place in Townsend Inlet, New Jersey, right across the bay from Avalon! It looks nothing like that anymore, but back in the day it was the best place to feel at home with the sea and sand!

That’s a lovely beach Stephen. Wasn’t this your pick for your ‘secret place’ a while ago?
I am a crab too by the way. although I switch to a lion when it suits me 🙂

    • Greetings, Madhu! And you are correct. I try to never repeat pics, but I love this place so much that I had to feature it again.
Yah, me too. I was born on July 21, on the cusp and just hours from officially being a lion. I’m a crab through and through, but I get older I notice that the lion tendencies are becoming stronger!

My kind of place, but then, I’m another water sign. 🙂
