I’m not really one for keeping bucket lists or things like that, but I still have a list of things I’d like to see before I kick the bucket, which isn’t going to happen anytime soon, since I plan on living until I’m 100.
But one thing on that list I know I will never actually see is the mighty planet Saturn up close and personal since, you know, space travel hasn’t evolved anywhere close to sending luxury vacation spacecraft to other planets.
Alas, the best I can do to get my Saturn fix is to visit the planet vicariously through the amazing photographs taken from the Cassini spacecraft, which has been exploring Saturn and its surrounding 150 moons for the last decade. This is truly some trippy, psychedelic stuff that definitely falls under the Strange But True category, so feast your eyes on the magnificence of the mighty Saturn!
I know … it’s not the same as kicking back sipping gin and tonics on the Observation Deck of an interplanetary luxury cruise ship, but it’ll have to do!
These take my breath away. There are a few that would look great framed and hanging on my wall. I guess I have paid for a portion of this photography expedition so which should be worth a print, don’t you think? 🙂
Hi Pat … I’ve already put a security deposit down on a photographic trip to Saturn … hope I don’t have to wait until I’m 100 for that to happen.
What a sight Saturn is
Hi Jo … Saturn is the epitome of magnificent!
It’s good to know you are planning to live till you are 100 :). I will be waiting for that post, Stephen 😀
that’s the plan, paula. exercise my mind and body, eat healthy, nutritious foods and stay away from the vices … how hard could it be?
