Ailsa’s Travel Theme: Off-Centre

kyoto_temple

This off-centre temple in Kyoto, Japan seems like it’s rising up from the surrounding countryside, a splash of orange amongst all that green.

  1. Hi, Stephen! You should post more often, I miss reading and looking through your pictures. Funnily enough, perhaps, this photo reminded me of the afghan I’m currently working on, because it had symetrical shapes like this mountain, only if the “up and down” pattern is off-centre like it is here, then it means I’ve miscounted somewhere, and have to take stitches out and start from the last place where the pattern made sense, often a little hard to find. The temple, however, is something I could in no way facsimilate with crochet, and it looks like a truly wonderful and magical place, buried as it is (as you note) in all the green. Thanks for your lovely photos, and bright spirit that so guides your ability to see what’s there with new eyes.

Love the way the temple pops against the green of the hill. Very nice shot.
