This is Gordon’s Bay in Clovelly, right outside of Sydney along the 3-mile coastal walk between Bondi and Coogee, and it’s my second favorite secret place on earth. If I showed my first place, it wouldn’t be a secret any longer, now would it?
Oh, and three cheers to Ailsa at Where’s My Backback for her awesome weekly photo challenge!!! Huzzah! And you all join in now, y’hear?

What a great place! ove the boats!
Hi … and thanks for stopping by again. the boats are the best part!
Sydney’s so lovely when you consider the beaches are like 20 mins away in some suburbs. This shows my home town on a much more cheery day, it’s literally been raining since last Sunday (but is finally) showing her happy, sunny face today.
hey giaff … yes, i’ve been monitoring the weather in sydney, and you guys are really getting dumped on. from what i’ve read you’re having an unusually stormy winter. i would LOVE to photograph vivid sydney one year, but i guess i have to be prepared for rain if i’m going to visit in june.
Vivid was pretty awesome, I think you’d definitely get a million fantastic shots! I didn’t realise you were so familiar with Sydney? It’s pretty calm at the moment, ie the weather is behaving 🙂
i’ve visited sydney every year since 2006 (twice in 2009). it’s my second favorite place on earth (sf, of course, being my first), and i call it my second home. i’ve even toyed with moving there. you’re so lucky to live there!
I’ve heard the exact same thing in regards to San Fran. That it’s gorgeous with an equally beautiful harbour and vibrant! I have family who live their two and they’re always trying to get us to go visit, one day 🙂
funny … I always feel a very strong San Francisco vibe whenever I’m Sydney. I think it’s part of the reason I felt comfortable there immediately. The two cities are very similar in many ways.
See, great minds do think alike!
Perfect place to hide from the world!
… and so quiet. just the sound of gulls and water lapping at the shore. la dolce vita!!!
I love that coastal walk from bondi to coogee, used to do it every evening, I understand why you love it so much…
hi emma, and thanks for visiting. i visit sydney once a year, and i never tire of the coastal walk. waverly cemetery is my favorite part. you’re so lucky to have had it in your backyard.
That looks heavenly, Stephen. All those boats, and a practically empty beach.
right? I’d live in that little green shack if i could. I’d be yelling at the little girl in the pic, “Get off my lawn!”
Haha awesome! 🙂

It’s first time I saw boats stored that way, cool.
What a cool ittle hideaway!
if that were America, there’d be a McDonalds there by now …
