I think I like the first one best–though all the statues are doing the same thing, they are similar individuals, not carbon copies, and that speaks to our humanity.

Yes … it was awesome! Actually, it traced the progression of Yebisu, which is one of Japan’s oldest brands, founded in 1890. I really liked the old advertising posters from the 40’s and 50’s, and the beer garden where you can sample the many flavors wasn’t bad, either!
There’s some cool super size sculptures captured here. The big bow and arrow is my favourite.

I’m glad to find 東日本大震災募金 It’s a donation for people in Japan.
Excellent! I thought of you when I selected that photo. That pic was taken in Tokyo in 2011, just two months after Fukashima, and there were many such donation boxes around the city. Someone told me that some of the wording means “Pray For Japan.”
The first is wonderful. Actually all the SF ones are right up my strasse!

Lovely photos! The first sculpture is quite striking and a bit disturbing at the same time, makes me think of a line of woman captured, maybe slaves being transported somewhere…..lovely contribution to the challenge!

That pic was taken outside of Sydney as part of Sculpture By The Sea, so I’m not sure if has some significance to the Australian culture. I like the sense of movement, even though they’re not doing anything.
